Questions

Frequently asked

Can’t see your question here? Call us on 01538 382090.

How old should my child be for their first eye examination?

We recommend a first eye examination at the age of three and a half, or even younger if there is a family history of squint or if you are concerned. Your child does not need to be able to read.

What extra tests can you carry out?

Alongside your eye examination we can carry out OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), retinal photography and visual field analysis to assess and monitor the health of your eyes over the long term.

What is Ortho K?

Orthokeratology is a non-surgical option: specially made contact lenses worn overnight reshape the eyes so you see better during the day without spectacles or daytime lenses. It is completely reversible. Book an appointment to find out if you are suitable.

Are you an NHS optician?

Yes, Newbold Opticians is an NHS optician. Please call us on 01538 382090 to check what you are entitled to before your appointment.
